The Member of Parliament for Shipley today attended the launch of a major report on how the UK can improve access to justice for survivors of modern slavery.
Anna Dixon met with representatives of the non-profit group Hope for Justice in Westminster as they marked the publishing of their report ‘Beyond Survival: Living free, not in survival mode, and being able to dream again’.
The work explores what justice means to survivors of modern slavery and what their experiences are of accessing the support they need for their recovery.
The event was hosted by MP Sarah Champion and attended by survivor consultants from Hope for Justice.
The publishing was also timed to coincide with Anti-Slavery Week, an awareness week that runs from 14-20 October 2024.
Ms Dixon was proud to be at the event and appreciated the opportunity to discuss how modern slavery and human trafficking affect care workers specifically.
