Anna Dixon, Member of Parliament for Shipley, has issued a statement regarding Amberside Energy's proposal for building a Battery Energy Storage System near Cullingworth.

The Statement reads:

"I am aware of Amberside Energy’s proposed plans to construct a battery energy storage system near Cullingworth. Over recent weeks, a significant number of local residents have contacted me to express their concerns.

"I attended Amberside Energy's recent public consultation and heard residents' views first-hand. I have also met with representatives of Amberside Energy and raised concerns regarding the fire safety risks, potential noise and disruption. I also urged them to consider how this development will benefit the community.

"Building new green infrastructure, like this proposal, will be vital to tackling the climate crisis and reducing energy bills. However, it is crucial that it is safe, built in a suitable location, and delivers community benefits.

"Therefore, I have requested that Amberside Energy attend a public meeting at which they can respond directly to the residents' concerns raised in the consultation."
