The MP for Shipley attended the Net-Zero All-Party Parliamentary Group today and listened to a speech by Energy Secretary Ed Milliband.
Anna Dixon, who has made increasing the levels of clean, home-grown energy the UK uses one of her top priorities as an MP, heard the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero set out his agenda for making the country a clean energy superpower.
The Net Zero APPG works to accelerate policy change, promote zero-carbon solutions, support clean growth technology, and ultimately embed the UK’s commitment to delivering a net zero-carbon economy.
Ms Dixon is looking forward to supporting the Labour government's ambitious climate plans, including using the newly established GB Energy to help the UK’s clean energy transition, which will aid in lowering energy bills for consumers.
