Shipley MP Anna Dixon in a meeting with Health Secretary Wes Streeting in Wesminster

Anna Dixon today pushed for the continued funding of the Airedale Hospital rebuild in a meeting with Health Secretary, Wes Streeting.

The meeting comes after the new Labour government discovered a £22billion black hole left by the Conservatives and subsequently announced a review of all NHS building projects.

The Steeton NHS facility requires rebuilding because most of its walls, floors, and roofs were built with reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), and it currently costs millions of pounds per year to keep the hospital safe.

The Shipley MP told the minister that Airedale Hospital provides a vital service for many people in her constituency and that the rebuild should proceed.

Ms Dixon added: “I will continue working with the government to ensure everyone across the constituency has access to high quality health facilities.”
